Microsoft Windows: Microsoft Connect Test Popup in Web Browser window (msftconnect test)

Issue

Continually receiving browser windows with Microsoft Connect Test (msftconnecttest.com) pop up when changing Internet connection, or when signing into Cato VPN. 

Environment

Microsoft Windows, Web Browser Window 

Resolution

  1. Open Command Prompt as AdministratorUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  2. Type in the following prompts one at a time, followed by the "Enter" key.
    1. netsh int ip reset
    2. netsh winsock reset
    3. ipconfig /flushdnsUploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Restart your computer, and try things out again to see if the connect test stops popping up.
