Creating Outlook Contacts and Syncing Outlook with Phone Contacts

The following steps are how to create an Outlook contact. The steps may look slightly different between New Outlook and Old Outlook, but they are fundamentally the same.

Step 1 - Open up Outlook.

Step 2 - Go to the left-hand side and click on the People icon.

The following steps will help you sync your Outlook contacts with your contacts app on your phone. Please note that this is not to be confused with the GAL (Global Address List) that houses all the employee contact information. To utilize that feature, please use the Teams or Outlook app and search for an employees name.

Step 1 - Open the Outlook app and click on your profile picture.

*NOTE* If for some reason you do not have the Outlook Sync contacts option, then you may need to update your Outlook app. To do so, for Android phones, open the Google Play Store, click on your name/profile picture in the upper right-hand corner, and click on Manage apps & device. From there, under Overview, look for the Update available section and choose update all or see details to look for the Outlook app if that's the only app that you want to update. For Apple iPhones, open the Self Service application, search for Outlook, and you should see an "Update" button if an update is available.
